About Our Product

Why does it take 2–5 weeks to get my pre-ordered lavashak?
Making lavashak correctly is very labor and time intensive. The lead time is proportional to the number of pre-orders we receive on a given week.

Do you use artificial fruit flavoring?
No artificial flavoring — just real fruit purée, plus natural ingredients like sea salt, citric/malic acid for tartness, and avocado oil for texture.

The lavashak has malic and citric acid. Why?
Persian cuisine emphasizes the sour flavor profile more than a lot of cuisines around the world. Traditionally, malic and citric acid is used in lavashak recipes to add that extra kick.

Why is my lavashak slightly oily?
We use avocado oil to improve the mouthfeel and body of the lavashak.

Why does my lavashak sometimes have small seams or patched spots?
Our lavashak is made from 100% real fruit purée with no binders or stabilizers. Fruits like sour cherry and apricot are naturally high in water and low in pectin (the substance that gives fruit its structure), which can cause the purée to separate slightly as it dries and create gaps and tears. When this happens, we patch the gaps with lavashak trimmings from that same batch — same fruit, same flavor — so it never affects taste or quality.

The apricot flavor is slightly bitter — why is this?
Apricots naturally contain plant compounds called tannins and polyphenols — the same compounds that give green tea, cranberries, and high-quality dark chocolate their depth of flavor. Because we don't mask the fruit with added sugar or corn syrup, you're tasting the natural character of the apricot. We think that slight bitterness adds complexity and makes for a more authentic result.

The apricot flavor has ascorbic acid in the ingredients. What is this?
Ascorbic acid is the chemical name for Vitamin C. Apricots are naturally rich in polyphenols, which cause the fruit to oxidize and turn a dull, brownish color soon after blending. Ascorbic acid acts as a natural barrier against oxygen, helping preserve the fruit's true golden color.

I didn't like my lavashak — can I get a refund?
We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. See our Refund Policy for how we handle this.
